The House

Sitting atop a sand dune at the end of three miles of unbroken white sands of Barra beach, Kaya MJ is an ideal holiday retreat on the coast of one of the most inspiring countries in Africa. The house offers 1700 sq ft of comfortable and spacious self-catering accommodation for up to seven guests, complete with fabulous sea views from a shaded veranda where the sand of Barra beach is just a few steps away.

The house offers a large living/dining area with kitchen, including gas cooker, oven, fridge freezer, hot water boiler, and plenty of utensils and crockery for your use. Within the living area are two sofa beds. The main entrance opens onto a large shaded deck area, which offers more sofas, deck chairs, hammocks, a pool table and both gas and coal barbeques.

At the back of the house two bedrooms provide one double and three single beds with mosquito nets, ceiling fans and en-suite bathrooms, as well as ample storage.

The house draws its water supply from its own borehole, and the water is mineral quality, but if you wish to use bottled water, you can easily obtain it from the local town.

Local villagers will visit the house each morning, offering fresh fish, bread and fruit and vegetables.
